Each year, The Forrester Wave™ analyzes the top Hybrid Cloud Management (HCM) providers in the market and provides a diagram and assessment of how suppliers measure against each other.
Forrester considers their Forrester Wave™ evaluation to be “a guide for buyers considering their purchasing options in a technology marketplace”.
In their research, Forrester creates a list of vendors they will take into consideration for the evaluation. Once the list of vendors is narrowed down using the inclusion criteria, Forrester begins to gather details of product and strategy using questionnaires, demos, and customer reference surveys and interviews. Forrester uses the inputs gathered in their investigation and analyst’s experience and expertise in the marketplace to score vendors that are being examined.
This Forrester Wave™ assessment provides organizations an evaluation of Leaders, Strong Performers, Contenders, and Challengers in HCM. In the Q4 2020 report, Forrester measures nine HCM vendors on their current offering, strategy, and market presence. The visual also illustrates how much market presence each supplier currently holds. Each HCM provider included in the analysis has core capabilities in multi-cloud management across workloads, revenue that meets or exceeds $10 million for FY 2019, general availability of the solution, a solution available as a standalone tool, client interest, and must include support for AWS, Azure, and vSphere-based clouds. Once the research is complete, Forrester publishes its scores and weightings in an Excel file that provides viewers with detailed product evaluations and rankings adding considerable value to the IT operations management process.
